Dear Tahoka Families:
Welcome to a new and exciting school year at Tahoka ISD!
Just like the start of every new school year, the 2024-2025 school year brings with it a sense of excitement and optimism. Walking onto each of our campuses we instantly feel the familiar comforts of the beginning of a new school year. Our buildings and campuses, thanks to the efforts of our custodial and maintenance staff, look immaculate. The sounds of the marching band are heard on campus in preparation for Friday nights, and athletes have returned anticipating the successes of their upcoming season. The faculty is making their final preparations to welcome students, while the clerical staff put on the finishing touches to meet stakeholder needs and ensure a successful start to the year. As we prepare for the first day of school we are mindful of the importance of student safety and the critical role we all play to ensure our schools are the safest place for students and staff. Not only is the safety of our students of paramount importance to us on campus but during their commute to and from school as well. For this reason, we ask parents to take the utmost precaution while driving their child to and from school. Being mindful of pedestrian traffic while entering and exiting school sites, not using mobile devices while driving, obeying all traffic laws, including signage and street markings, and following instructions from any school site staff directing traffic.
Forging a strong relationship between the school and home is beneficial to student performance and academic growth. Please take advantage of the upcoming opportunities that you will have to become involved at Tahoka ISD. You will hear about volunteer opportunities during Back-to-School Night and our new Parent Teacher Organization. I also encourage you to stop by the main office to learn more about becoming an active member of our learning community.
Finally, if you have any questions prior to the start of school, don’t hesitate to contact us.
